If you have or are thinking about becoming a Christian and saying ‘yes!’ to following Jesus then this step is for you.

Jesus was more than just a person that lived thousands of years ago, born in a stable and grew up to tell some great stories to large crowds. He was the son of God, sent on a mission to help reconnect mankind to their creator God. That same God wants to be in a relationship with you today. We have all lived lives that are not in line with Gods plan for each of us. We have made choices that separate us from Him, which the Bible calls sin.

Maybe you realise that you are not walking right with God. You are not in a vibrant, daily relationship with God. You are not even sure where you stand with God. You may have been in church for a long time or maybe you are not really a church person. Maybe you believe God exists but you don’t know where you stand with him.

Let me tell you about this gift, which the Bible calls the ‘Good News’:

God loves you so much, he gave his one and only son Jesus who lived a perfect and sinless life. He died a terrible death on a cross and came back to life three days later, as way of taking your place for the wrong you have done and giving full forgiveness for all the mistakes you have made and ever will make.

So, what can you do today to make things right with God and be in relationship with him?

The Bible simply says “if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be saved.”. If you want to become a Christian today and make a decision to give your life to Jesus and live your life his way then all you need to do is say this simple prayer:

Dear God,
thank you that you love me
and have a good plan and purpose for my life.
I’m sorry for ignoring you and doing things my way.
I realise now that my sin has hurt you
and the people around me,
and for this I’m truly sorry.

Thank you Jesus that you gave your life for me
and took the punishment for my sin.
Please forgive me and help me now,
by the power of your Holy Spirit,
as I decide to live only for you.
Amen.

JESUS LIVED A DIFFERENT WAY

You too can now enter a new way of living.
As a new Christian or follower of Christ, the Bible describes you in a variety of ways:

NEW CREATION

Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

2 Corinthians 5:17

SAVED

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Ephesians 2:8-9

FORGIVEN

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Romans 3:23-24

CHILD OF GOD

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Romans 8:15-16

MASTERPIECE

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

EPHESIANS 2:10

Everything you have ever done wrong or will do wrong has been forgiven. The gap between you and God has been removed and you are now an adopted son or daughter. God is your Father and you are part of His family, known as the Church.
