Week of Prayer 2024

SUNDAY 6TH - SUNDAY 13TH OCTOBER

On Sunday the 6th of October, Freedom church is embarking on a week of 24/7 prayer together!

We want to carve out time to pray and seek God's heart for several different areas. We're going to take a daily focus on the following topics; the children and families we work with, our building project, the health and unity of the church across the Romsey area, current affairs, young people, the social justice issues that the Freedom Centre and associated projects, such as the foodbank are working with, and the health of the community of Romsey and surrounding villages across the test valley.

Jesus said, "I am the light of the world", and we want to seek his light in all the above, as well as preparing ourselves to be salt and light as we find ourselves placed in the relationships and environments that we are on a daily basis.

We will begin our week with prayer and worship at "All-In" on the evening of Sunday the 6th. From that point we will have created a prayer space in the upper room at the Centre, a relaxing environment filled with resources and prayer stations to guide us through the above themes. The prayer room will be open for use from 7am through to 5pm daily, but we would love it if individuals and families would commit to praying day and night at home by booking hour long prayer slots through the 24/7 prayer website (link below).

🙏 Remember to refresh this page each day to see the new video. This helps us to focus our prayers as a community on the theme for each day.

The prayer week will be concluding in the morning service on Sunday the 13th of October.

Our hope is that this focused week of prayer will be the start of a new journey for many, into a deeper experience of  God's refreshing presence, to revive a love for meditating on His word; or simply making more time for Jesus in our thought lives.

DAY 1: family

For further reading during your time of prayer, meditate on Proverbs 18:21.

"There is life and death in the power of the tongue"

Let’s think about the power of words as we declare identity, authority and son-ship over the lives and situations of our children and families.

Join me in this prayer:

Lord, as I join my value system to yours, I am believing as I speak out on faith: Heaven opened, Earth invaded, miracles created, Dreams and visions, Angelic visitations, and a fresh encounter of the Holy Spirit.

DAY 2: youth

In today's video, hear from Zoe, our youth pastor about the prayer needs of our young people

For further reading during your time of prayer:
