Freedom Matters is the social action collective of Freedom Church. Freedom Matters currently pioneers three primary projects and is trying to utilise these to help respond to Covid-19 in the community:

  • Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre
  • Romsey Foodbank
  • TLG: Transforming Lives for Good https://www.tlg.org.uk/

If you are currently experiencing food poverty or would like to know more about Romsey Foodbank, please head to the website here.

If you are current looking for support because you are in financial debt or would like to find out more about how CAP works, please head to the CAP website here.

Romsey Foodbank have three “community drop-in” sessions per week, where people are able to come to the Freedom Centre or North Baddesley Foodbank, to receive practical support and signposting. Find out more about Romsey Foodbank online and on Facebook.

Romsey Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre provide three main services:

  • A debt counselling service, to help anyone struggling with financial debt
  • The CAP Money Course, to teach people how to budget, save and spend
  • The Life Skills Course, to give people the confidence and decision-making skills they need to survive on a low income

TLG is a Christian charity that helps churches to bring hope and a future for struggling children. We are involved in providing Early Intervention Programme in two schools across Romsey. To find out more, please visit their website here.

If you want to support any of these projects as a volunteer, please contact the Freedom Church Office Team and we will pass your details on.  If you would like to donate financial support to Freedom Matters please click here.  Thanks!

Romsey Care Homes

Once a month, a team from Freedom Church has been going into Care Homes in Romsey to lead hymns and readings. They aim to encourage and minister to those they meet with by sharing with them the love of God.  All Care Home visits are currently suspended as per the latest government guidelines.

If you’d like to join the team or visit the Care Homes with them once restrictions are lifted, please do get in touch with the office team for more information.
